DESIGN POINT OF VIEW
My life has been defined by the notion of place whether it has been a place in society, a physical place, or even a place in my academic journey. Initially, I chose to pursue architecture because it was one of few fields that solved problems through creative design solutions. What continues to inspire and interest me is the manner in which a designer can allow a place to profoundly influence the design of the project.
The peculiarity of architecture is that it is about two types of places. One is the physical place – a place that fulfills our physical needs for shelter and security. The other place is filled with rich connotations of culture and time. These two kinds of place culminate in the making of a unique contribution to the built environment.
